Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited has mentioned in their latest press release that they would keep up with their word and mentioned that “Free Voice and Data benefits under JIO WELCOME OFFER to continue till 31st December 2016”.
This is after it was learned through the TRAI notes that the Jio benefits will end on December 3rd.
Here’s what it is – While TRAI has recognized that Jio could offer the free calls and data, that cannot be done for more than 90 days, and that time ends on December 3rd. But now, Jio is saying that who already subscribed to this offer will continue getting it till 31st December. But the ones who will take Jio services from December 3rd will be getting new offers from Jio.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (“RJIL”) has received communication from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) stating that the tariff plans offered by it are fully compliant with regulatory norms of IUC compliance, non-predatory and non-discriminatory. This clearly establishes the fact that all the tariffs offered by RJIL are in compliance with the prevailing regulations. A key feature of RJIL’s tariff packs is free voice calling for Local, STD and National roaming for all times.
As per RJIL’s filing with the TRAI, the JIO WELCOME OFFER (“JWO”) will be available to all the customers for subscription till 3rd December 2016. RJIL wishes to reconfirm that JWO benefits of free unlimited voice and data will continue to be available to all subscribers till 31st December 2016.
The consumers, who cannot subscribe to the RJIL services till 3rd December 2016 will continue getting opportunities to avail new offers and tariff plans from RJIL. RJIL aspires to provide the experience of Jio Digital life to all Indians and to achieve this it will continue coming up with more consumer friendly offers and plans to enhance the consumer experience.
So, don’t worry about your SIM and the free benefits if you are already using it. You’ll get that till 31st December, as mentioned in the release. To end the other speculation around the Jio call service, it was mentioned by the Jio officials that Jio free calls will stay forever if you are subscribed to any plan with the network.
How will Reliance work on this and offer the new subscribers with something after December 3rd? Probably a new offer under a newer name, but we are not sure about that yet.
