The F series from OPPO has been very famous in the recent times, especially for offering a good selfie camera and not compromising on the other specs as well. The OPPO F1 Plus was a great mid-range choice, and OPPO India today adds a new device to the portfolio by launching the OPPO F1s smartphone. The company has been growing in numbers in both, Chinese and Indian markets, and in the recent reports, it was said that OPPO is the no. 1 brand in China in terms of total shipments in Q2 2016.
The F1s, as expected, is the little sibling to the F1 Plus. It comes with a metal build just like the one on the F1 Plus, and there are quite a few features matching, but OPPO has compromised with some specs to get the pricing to an affordable bracket. The device sports a 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels resolution) and under the hood is the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core chipset that clocks at 1.5GHz, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The company has included a MicroSD card slot for the storage expansion, though, and that supports a card of up to 128GB capacity.
There’s a fingerprint scanner included as a part of the home button on the front, and the camera combination is what the company advertises the most. “Selfie Expert” tag still sticks there as the OPPO F1s comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, and if you read our OPPO F1 Plus review, you’ll know how much we liked the selfie camera. It comes with a good software support as well. There are seven levels of beautification and a Selfie Panorama feature is available as well. The phone runs Color OS 3.0 with battery saving features and some UI enhancements.
For the power, there is a 3075 mAh battery packed into the phone and there is support for company’s Super VOOC fast charge technology. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 17990.
The other phones from OPPO that are already doing well in the market where they are selling include OPPO R7, R7 Plus, R9 and R9 Plus. OPPO also has partnered with ICC and had launched the OPPO F1 ICC WT20 edition smartphone recently.
