A day after the official launch in the global market, OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 6T in India. With those expected changes, the phone still carries the same internal power that the OnePlus 6 did, but the display, the battery, and the fingerprint experience now has changed.
The OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch AMOLED display with the 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is a tiny notch, similar to how it is on the Vivo V11 Pro, with a drop-like appearance to house the front camera. Internally, as said, the phone comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB and 8GB options for the RAM capacity, and the storage this time is a minimum of 128GB, and the standard 8GB + 256GB option is also going to be available.
The phone also retains the same camera combination as the OnePlus 6, with the dual-lens camera having a 16MP Sony IMX 519 sensor and a 20MP Sony IMX 376K secondary sensor, both with the F/1.7 aperture and the OIS support for the primary camera. There is 4K video recording possible with the rear cameras, and 480 fps slow-motion videos at 720p resolution. On the front is a 16MP Sony IMX 371 sensor for the selfies and video calls. It comes with the F/2.0 aperture size.
While the cameras are the same, the camera experience is changing a bit. The camera app will now have Nightscape and Studio Lighting, the new modes. The Nightscape mode will help capturing low-light urban environments with improved clarity, less noise, more accurate color reproduction and better dynamic range.
What’s new in the OnePlus 6T is the way you unlock your phone now. While the Face Unlock is still here, it is the new in-display fingerprint scanner that is seen here. There is now no fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, and only the in-display option is given here. To house this sensor under the display, OnePlus said that it led to the removal of the headphone jack and now, there will be either the USB-Type C headphones or the Bluetooth option available for the users for the audio output.
The OnePlus 6T has a 3700 mAh battery and the typical DASH charge with the 20W output, and there are two color options at the launch – Midnight Black and Mirror Black. For the connectivity, there are all the usual flagship options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, NFC, GPS, and in the markets where Dual SIM option was present on the previous model, the OnePlus 6T will have the Dual SIM connectivity with Dual VoLTE.
The OnePlus 6T is going to be available from November 1st, and the pre-order is open on Amazon India. The price starts at Rs. 37999.
