Nokia has scheduled an event for a new device to be launched on July 11. The Finish smartphone maker could be launching its X-series smartphone, which looks much like the originally Nokia X6 that was launched a couple of months ago. The device that is going to be launched is the Nokia X5. HMD Global, a Nokia brand licensee, has teased the public with Nokia X5 launch event invitations, which would be held in China.
The new X5 is said to sport a 5.86-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. The phone has the new 19:9 aspect ratio that we have come to see in phones with notched displays. The company is said to have opted for a MediaTek chipset which is an Helio P22 chipset which is clocked at 2GHz. The RAM and storage variants include 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB or 6 GB RAM with 64 GB of storage. The phone is expected to be upgradeable to Android P, while it comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Regarding the cameras, the X5 would come with a dual camera setup on the back of which the primary camera uses a 13 MP sensor and has an unknown secondary sensor. To the front, the phone has an 8 MP front-facing camera.
The phone comes with support 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The battery is said to be a 3000 mAh unit. The tenaa model shows a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
As for the colors, it is expected to come in Black, Blue and white colors. The new smartphone’s renders were posted on the search engine platform, Baidu. Another rumor suggests Nokia may also launch a Snapdragon 710 powered smartphone and an 845 powered flagship smartphone in Q3 2018. The expected launch of the two SD710 and SD845 phones could be around last week of August, during IFA 2018.
