LG has officially launched the V20 smartphone and this is the first device in the world to run Android 7.0 Nougat OS, with LG’s UI layered over it. Nevertheless, it comes before Google’s devices that are usually the first to come with a new OS version every year. It is a large phablet, to begin with, but there are a lot of inclusions that make the V20 a powerful device.
The LG V20 comes with a Quad HD resolution display under the 5.7-inch screen and it is the IPS Quantum display that its predecessor V10 also had. The V20 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and there is 64GB of UFS storage as well. It is the LG UX 5.0+ layered over the Nougat OS, so you won’t really be able to see the core features of Nougat directly, as is the case with any custom UI.
To add to the display, there is a secondary display, which is also a IPS Quantum display having a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels. It is similar to how the secondary display is placed on the LG X Screen. The camera combination on the LG V20 is a strong point as well, as there is a dual-rear camera setup including a 16MP sensor with F/1.8 Aperture and OIS (Standard Angle), and 8MP sensor with F/2.4 Aperture (Wide Angle). On the front is a 5-megapixel wide-angle camera with the F/1.9 aperture.
If you remember, the V10 was a device aimed at multimedia, and the V20 carries that legacy ahead with the collaboration done along with Bang & Olufsen for offering B&O Play H3 earphones in some markets. There is support from even Qualcomm Audio to help integrated Quad DAC in producing great sound quality.
There is a fingerprint scanner present on the phone and it is on the back, also working as a power button. The device will be offered in Titan, Silver, and Pink color options.
For the connectivity, there is Snapdragon X12 model that supports 4G LTE with VoLTE for select markets, and the chip boasts a download speed of up to 600 Mbps. It is the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support in place for the 3200 mAh battery in the LG V20, which can be charged through the USB Type-C port. The pricing part is not revealed yet, though some leaks point out at $799 as the pricing.
Best for audio lovers and has more battery power
