Days after the launch of the Nova 3, Huawei has unveiled their specced down variant of the 3, the Huawei Nova 3i, today, in China. Packed with Quad cameras, the 3i is the first device to be powered by the latest Kirin 710 chipset and also comes with Huawei’s Qmojis.
Display
The Huawei Nova 3i sports a 6.3-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. A 2.5D curved glass covers the 19.5:9 notched display. The display supports 85% of NTSC color space.
Processor, RAM & Storage
Powering the phone is the aforementioned HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset, an Octa-core processor which uses four Cortex A73 cores at 2.2 GHz and four power-efficient Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. The CPU is built on the 12nm manufacturing process which also has support for the latest GPU Turbo Technology. It comes with 4 GB RAM with 128 GB storage and 6 GB RAM with either 64 GB and 128 GB of internal storage to choose from. The storage can be expanded up to 256 GB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei EMUI 8.2 on top.
Cameras
As for the cameras, the Huawei Nova 3i comes with Quad cameras of which two cameras lie on the back and two on the front. The dual camera setup on the rear comes with a 16 MP primary shooter and a secondary depth sensing 2 MP shooter. To the front, the phone greets you with a dual camera setup as well with a massive 24 MP primary sensor that sits behind a f/2.0 lens and a secondary 2 MP camera. Both the cameras come powered by AI technology that we’ve been seeing in phones these days.
Miscellaneous
The battery underneath is a 3340 mAh unit which doesn’t support Huawei’s SuperCharge technology. For security, the phone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well face-unlock feature.
The phone also comes with Huawei’s 3D Animated Emojis, also known as Qmojis, which utilizes an InfraRed light on the front.
Pricing and Availability of Huawei Nova 3i
The Huawei Nova 3i comes in Black, Blue and White colors. The pricing of the phone starts at CNY 1999 for the 4 GB RAM variant with 126 GB storage, while the 6 GB RAM with 64 GB of storage is priced around CNY 2199. The phone will be available for purchase starting from August 1st while the sale starts on August 8th.
