Google has introduced a new Logo or wordmark, which comes after the company was recently listed under its parent company Alphabet. The new logo is resembling its parent company Alphabet’s wordmark making it similar to each other. The font being used in the new logo which is still a wordmark is Sans-serif typeface. This is an attempt to rebrand itself and make it look more modern.
Google has released a 2-minute video showing the evolution of the new Google logo from when it has started. It also shows its other services like Gmail, Youtube, Google Maps and their logos. It also shows off the various platforms which are now covered by Google like smartphones, smartwatches, PC or laptops, car consoles all of which use OK Google command to get respective things done.
Showcasing the things which OK Google can do like providing you information from the internet as well as from your smartphone. It ends the video by saying that it is jus the tip of the ice burg which has been seen, suggesting there are many new updates and services which will be made available by Google.
The evolution of the new wordmark started from 1998 when the first logo was created and one of the biggest changes coming in 1999 when Google started the four color design. the design has been updated and we must say has been flattened or trimmed down over the years to end up with the new Google logo.
Today we’re introducing a new logo and identity family that reflects this reality and shows you when the Google magic is working for you, even on the tiniest screens. As you’ll see, we’ve taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type and talk).
The small “g” which we used to see in browser tabs is now being replaced by an uppercase letter “G” which is going to be multicolored with all the four colors from the logo taken. The ordered followed is Red, yellow, green and blue to make the logo look more appealing. This new design is said to be rolled out across all platforms of Google and you will be seeing the same color scheme being followed in the mike icon as well.
