Google has finally rolled out a first major upgrade to Google Earth since its official launch. Google Earth is satellite service that you can use to view different places on earth. With the new update, you don’t need to install the dedicated app as it now works directly in your browser.
Google has announced an overhaul of its Earth service, starting with the ability to browse it directly in the Chrome browser. Google takes advantage of its extensive Knowledge Graph. Hence you become familiar with the places you search using the search now panel. Every time you search for a location; the knowledge card suggests you more details such as attractions, geographical stats and more.Google introduced a new feature called “Voyager” which lets you browse “interactive guided tours” that are created by Scientists, nonprofits, and storytellers. The Collection of places across the world you wish to explore are being clubbed into one and allows you to explore them and learn more about them. Google partnered with BBC and Sesame Street and said that they would continue to extend the list to keep Voyager feature updated with fresh content.

The “I’m feeling lucky” button takes the app to one of the twenty thousand random locations curated by Google staff with the new 3D view which is better than the regular flat satellite view. The new Google Earth update is available for the web and Android at the moment, but support for iOS and other web browsers is said to be coming soon.
