ASUS Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL), the successor of Zenfone 2 Laser (ZE550KL) is now available for purchase in India for Rs. 18,999. The smartphone was announced way back on August 17 in the country. It comes with a 13 MP Sony Exmor camera with the signature laser assisted autofocusing mechanism. Initially, the handset will remain exclusive to Flipkart and later shall go for sale through other online and offline retailers.
The brand new device sports a metallic construction with a 5.5-inch display on the top. This is 2.5D curved IPS LCD panel with Full HD 1080p resolution. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covers the screen which has a maximum brightness of 500 nits. Internally, the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC powers up the Zenfone 3 Laser. The processor has eight Cortex A53 cores running up to 1.4 GHz each combined with Adreno 505 GPU.
The ASUS Zenfone 3 Laser has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. A micro SD card up to 128 GB can additionally be inserted via the hybrid SIM tray. The handset runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS layered with ASUS ZenUI 3.0.
Camera hardware is the most interesting aspect of the latest smartphone. At the back, there is a 13 MP shooter with Sony IMX 214 sensor. The primary camera boasts a f/2.0 sized aperture with the advanced 0.03-second laser-assisted autofocus system. This is complemented by a dual-LED rear flash, innovative EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), real-time HDR, 52 MP Resolution Mode, 32 seconds extended exposure, manual mode, etc.
At the front, there is an 8 MP snapper with 89˚ wide angle and a large f/2.0 aperture. The selfie shooter also supports HDR. The new Zenfone 3 Laser can capture Full HD 1080p videos at 30 fps.
A fast (0.3 second) fingerprint sensor is located at the back of the ZC551KL. The dual SIM smartphone supports 4G LTE with Cat. 4 speeds (up to 150 Mb/s download and 50 Mb/s upload). Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth v 4.0, GPS, micro USB port, FM Radio, 3.5 mm headphone jack, etc. A 3000mAH battery provides juice to the device.
The ASUS Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL) comes in Silver and Gold colored variants. The newest smartphone will retail for Rs. 18,999 first only at Flipkart and then shall be available at various e-commerce platforms and brick and mortar stores.
