Apple has released tvOS 9.2 update for their fourth Generation Apple TV with the addition of heaps of new and useful features in the latest update. One of the exciting features is the use of Siri Remote to dictate text for search queries, usernames and even passwords without the need to laboriously type in the text taking ages together. The other feature that caught out attention was the Bluetooth keyboard support to help enter text easily.
With the Apple TV 4 being available in the market around 6 months this is a huge upgrade with some new features and some features which were not forwarded from the Apple TV 3 making it to the Apple TV 4 with this update. Siri remote dictation is the new feature which helps use your voice to dictate text into search fields including username and passwords. You can just hold the microphone button on the Siri Remote and say the phrase you want to search in Username and you are done. For Password you need to dictate each character separately and specify capital for uppercase letters. Now with Siri you can search in App Store and list of Apps as well by mentioning ‘Search the App Store’.
App folders for Apple tvOS is a very useful feature which lets you group apps together in folders similar to iOS and OS X, this helps in sorting out the apps into different folders like News, Games, Education, Movies etc for easy access. Creating a folder is similar to what we do in iOS, select an app by clicking and holding the Touch Surface on Siri Remote when highlighting an app, then drag and drop it over another app with which you want to create a folder of.
The other feature is the Apple wireless Keyboards support if you prefer typing instead of dictating, at present Apple TV supports only Apple Wireless Keyboards. Another feature is the option to sync with iCloud Photo Library which lets you see Live Photos on the big screen.
