Alongside the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max, the Cupertino giant, Apple has also launched the low-cost Apple iPhone XR, today, in Cupertino, California. The iPhone XR has a similar design as the Xs and Xs Max, as well as the outgoing iPhone X.

The Apple iPhone XR sports a 6.1-inch edge to edge LCD panel which Apple likes to call liquid retina display The retina display has a 1792×828 resolution, with true tone support. The screen also has a 120Hz touch sensitive layer for a smoother experience. The screen also provides haptic feedback to users similar to the trackpads on MacBooks. Powering the XR’s are the new Apple A12 Bionic chipset, which uses a Hexa Core CPU, a Quad Core GPU and an Octa-core Neural Engine. The A12 Bionic uses real-time machine learning with up to 5 trillion neural operations per second. The iPhone XR is available in 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB storage variants.
Cameras
For imaging, the iPhone XR uses a single 12 MP standard shooter which has 1.4 um pixels and a f/1.8 aperture 6-element lens. The camera offers OIS and is assisted by a True Tone Quad LED flash. The rear camera can take portrait shots as well, a feat which is achieved by using segmentation of the subject from the background.
The selfie shooter borrows the optics from the pricier XS variants with a 7 MP f/2.2 selfie camera. The selfie camera also offers portrait mode along with portrait lighting effects.
Also, users can change the depth level of photos shot in portrait mode.
Miscellaneous
The iPhone XR is claimed to last an hour and half longer than the iPhone 8 Plus. Features such as Bluetooth 5.0 Gigabit LTE networks, GPS are included in the phone.
The iPhone XR is IP67 dust and water resistant.
The iPhone XR is built with 7000 series aircraft grade aluminum. For securing your smartphone, the XR comes with Face ID, similar to the one found on the XS and XS Max. The iPhone XR also supports Apple Pay. Animojis make a comeback as well.
Pricing and Availability Apple iPhone XR
The Apple iPhone XR is available in a plethora of colors – Black, Blue, Coral, White, Yellow, also, there’s a Product Red variant of the iPhone XR as well. The pricing of the iPhone XR starts from USD 749 and will be available for pre-order starting from October 12, while the sale begins on October 26. In India, the Apple iPhone XR will start at Rs.76,900 MRP.
The more affordable iPhone than the other two but still packs the best hardware and cameras!!
