The price range of Rs. 20000 to Rs. 30000 for smartphones cannot be called a mid-range one now since you get full-fledged devices that are good in every aspect. Another significant segment where specs included for the price from a few brands would make other brands feel the heat.
We’ve seen some smartphones from brands such as OnePlus shooting at flagships from other companies, but with price not crossing Rs. 25000. If you are looking at best phones in the lower price segments, check out the best smartphones from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10000, best smartphones from Rs. 10000 to Rs. 15000, and also the best smartphones from Rs. 15000 to Rs. 20000. These are our choices in this segment.
Honor 7
There is nothing we didn’t like about the Honor 7, except that the battery could’ve been a little better. It boasts one of the best fingerprint scanners that does a lot more than unlocking the screen, and the phone although has a processor from company’s own relatively less known chipset, it performs very well.
OnePlus 2
The One had raised the expectations, thus we wanted to see what is being done in the OnePlus 2 to make it a better choice than its predecessor. The OnePlus 2 didn’t impress everyone, but it still had enough to take the lead in its price segment, if the users don’t look at the past and expectations from it.
Lenovo Vibe Shot
The Vibe Shot was a treat to the eyes, the way it looked and the way it captured photos. Triple-tone flash and a very good 16-megapixel camera added to the dual-side glass body. In fact, the way it is made on the back, the phone looks more like a digital camera. The performance was great, and the display too was good enough.
LG Nexus 5X
Not including a Nexus phone in its price range is something rare, and we might have thought of that last year with Nexus 6, but this time both the Nexus devices are quite good. In fact, the Nexus 6P is much better but is premium with pricing, and Nexus 5x has shown a great price drop, making it a worthy choice with the current price.
Sony Xperia M5
Sony has a great portfolio of phones with waterproof designs. The M5 Aqua doesn’t end it there with a waterproof design, but it has an awesome camera combination and UI and the phone’s performance too is appreciably good.
Worth a mention
HTC Desire Eye with its front camera and overall good performance is one that we should mention in this category, and for someone looking at a very good smartphone as a package, the HTC One A9 seems like a nice deal though we haven’t used it to come to a conclusion.
As always, we list out smartphones only that we have used and reviewed, to be fair about the results. Judging a phone based on its specs is too easy, but that is misleading as the end performance usually differs in devices having similar internal configuration. We haven’t really used HTC One A9, but that is a phone several fellow techies have loved so far.
