Samsung has announced two new laptops to add to their ever-expanding list of laptops. The Notebook 9 series with 15.5-inch and 13.3-inch variants were announced as part of the CES 2016 show. The main aspect which makes these laptops worth noticing is their weight with the 15-inch variant weighing just 1.29 kg and the 13.3-inch variant weighing 0.84 kgs which is just amazing making them almost weightless.
Both the 15.5-inch and 13.3-inch variants come with similar internal specifications like a 1080p or fullHD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. You can configure the laptops up to Intel Core i7 processor which are Intel’s latest Skylace chips. This makes the laptops powerful in the real sense.
The memory options are 4GB/8GB LPDDR3 and the storage options are 128 GB/256 GB SSD which make them a great competitor to the Macbooks in the market although the fullHD display is a let down the other specs surely make it special. Both the laptops come with USB Type-C port (only in the 15.5-inch variant) along an HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports along with mini Ethernet, 3-in-1 SD card slot, HP/mic. The USB Type-C port is missing on the 13.3-inch laptop.
The Samsung Note 9 15.5-inch variant measures 346.5 x 236.8 x 14.5mm and weighs 1.29 kg and comes with up to 12 hours of battery life along with Quick Charging feature which lets you fully charge your laptop in just 20 minutes. The 13.3-inch variant of the Notebook 9 measures 313.8 x 212.8 x 13.4mm and weighs 0.84 kgs. It gives up to 10 hours of battery life without Quick Charge.
The pricing of the Notebook 9 13.3 and 15.5 variants has not been revealed yet, they will be available in the market starting in early 2016. The colors available for both the variants are Iron Silver and Modern Pink. The 15-inch variant is a sure competitor to the MacBook with its internals and specs, the 13-inch variant did not impress me much but the bigger variant is a sure winner.
