Panasonic has its own range of rugged laptops that they sell and it has a very niche market. Panasonic India launched the new 2-in-1 CF-20 Toughbook laptop which can be detached from the keyboard to convert it into a 10.1-inch tablet.
As mentioned before, the Toughbook CF-20 is built for someone who needs good computing power even in extreme conditions and harsh environments. This laptop can be used in fields like oil and gas transportation and even in conditions where one has to work in some extreme conditions. Panasonic has made sure that the laptop meets MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461F military standards and it is also IP65 water and dust resistance.
The laptop itself runs on Windows 10 Pro and has a 6th Gen 1.1Ghz Intel Core m5-6Y57 vPro processor which can turbo boost up to 2.8GHz. You also get Intel HD Graphics 515 integrated GPU to take care of low-end graphics processing and for storage, it comes with a 128GB SSD which you can choose to be up to 512GB. You get 8GB RAM which is more than enough for work purposes. There is an option to choose a bridge battery which will allow you to swap the battery on the go without turning the laptop off.
The laptop has a screen of size 10.1-inches as mentioned before and since it also transforms into a tablet, you get a touchscreen that will work even if you have gloves on. The laptop has a Vehicle Mount which will be useful if you want to mount it on/inside your vehicle. Apart from all this, you get all the standard stuff like USB ports, SD card reader, HDMI, VGA and Ethernet ports along with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE and GPS for wireless connectivity.
The price of this 2-in-1 laptop is Rs. 2,25,000 in India. As mentioned before, this laptop is built for extreme conditions and targets a very niche consumer base which justifies the high price tag.
