HP has kept things interesting with a new Star Wars Themed laptop which literally is for All out Star Wars fans. Right from the packaging with Star Wars stickers on it along with a box for the power brick which has the picture of the Darth Vader on it and is a perfect fit for putting those action figures in, HP has maintained the detail all over.
The Laptop is named as Star Wars Special Edition Notebook. With the graphics continuing onto the laptop as well covering almost all of the laptop back, keypad and even the track pad is depicting the X-Wing Star Fighter Guidance System from the Star Wars series. Let us keep the exteriors and the graphics aside and look what actually runs the Laptop. It comes with a 15.6-inch full HD display having resolution of 1920 x1 080 IPS panel and an optional touchscreen.
It is powered by Intel’s Skylace Core i5 or i7 processors which is supported by 6GB or 12GB RAM and comes with integrated graphics which are Intel HD 520 Graphics or you can add Nvidia GeForce 940M GPU. You get two storage options with 1TB hard drive and 2TB hard drive. It comes with an optical drive and dual speakers and the audio is handled by Bang & Olufsen.
HP has managed to make some changes to the OS as well to give it an overall Star Wars feel with the help of Lucasfilm to add Star Wars themes, wallpapers, screen savers along with even audio effects. Even the gallery is filled with Star Wars goodies like concept art and posters from the original movie and movie trailers too. It is going to be a dream come true for Star Wars fans.
We can see that HP has done a lot of work in making sure that this not just some namesake special edition but a genuine attempt at keeping things right and satisfying the Star Wars fans. The tech specs are also decent enough and the HP Star Wars Special Edition Laptop is priced at $840 and will be varying based on the additions like RAM, Storage and Graphics. the laptop is due later this month for launch in the market.
