With Microsoft taking all the limelight this week with the release of the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book, HP is not falling behind and has launched their latest hybrid devices the HP Spectre X2 which comes with a 12-inch display and with a built-in kickstand.
The HP Spectre range was always a decent line up with the Spectre x360 being launched earlier this year. The Spectre X2 comes with detachable compact keyboard as well along with built-in kickstand. There are two other devices announced by HP today, the Spectre x360 and Envy Notebook. The Spectre x2 is set to take on the Surface series from Microsoft.
The tablet is designed to look good and it does have that thin U shaped kick-stand which does not give the bulky or awkward design like other hybrids. The Spectre x2 comes with a keyboard which is made of metal with chiclet keys and are raised above the surface. The 12-inch display is surrounded by thick black colored bezels.
Enough of the design now lets get inside, the Spectre X2 is powered by a M3, M5 or M7 processor and comes with two RAM variants of 4GB and 8GB. The internal storage options are 128GB, 256GB and 512 GB of storage along with microSD card slot to increase the storage space. It comes with two USB-C connectors which also helps in charging along with an SD card reader. It comes with SIM card slot which can help you stay connected using Verizon’s LTE network.
It comes with Stylus support, which is not given with the device but will be costing you $50 extra. A magnetic strip is included to help place the stylus when not being used. To enhance the audio output Bang and Olufsen Audio has been used along with four stereo speakers located on the tablet and detachable keyboard as well. HP has included three cameras in the Spectre X2, yes you heard it right three cameras with an 8P shooter on the back and a 5MP front facing camera, the third camera is a Intel RealSense 3D camera and more details about it we will be updating later on.
Depending on the variant you choose the pricing varies, for the basic model with M3 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage the price is set at $799.99 and increase for higher models. The HP Spectre X2 will be available starting from November 8 from HP officially or through Best Buy.
