Gionee announced its first “Made in India” phone, the Gionee F103, which is already being assembled in Foxconn’s plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The event was attended by N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, along Gionee’s global CEO William Lu, Gionee’s India CEO Arvind Vohra.
The F103 is already available in the market, but these would be the new units having the address of Sri City plant where these have been assembled. It was earlier said that Gionee is investing 50 million USD for the production and R&D cost in India.
The F103 is a part of the Fashion series from Gionee, and the company is expected to assemble the P series phones in the coming days, in the same manufacturing facility of Foxconn.
