Amazon Echo Dot, Echo Plus and Echo Sub launched in India, starting at INR 4,499

Amazon has launched a new line-up of Echo devices, the Amazon Echo Dot and Echo Plus, and an Echo companion device the Amazon Echo Sub, today in India. The Echo Dot and the Echo Plus have improved design and sound quality, while the Echo Sub is a new Echo device which acts as a subwoofer to produce rich bass.

Amazon Echo Dot

The new Amazon Echo Dot comes with new fabric design and an improved sound. The fabric used comes in Charcoal, Heather Gray and Sandstone colors. The company claims that the new Echo Dot produces louder and richer sound than the previous version, while still have a compact design. Users can also connect their home theater or favorite speaker via Bluetooth or 3.5 mm audio cable to stream songs from your Amazon music to your home theater/speaker. The Echo Dot also supports multi-room music grouping when two or more Dots are placed in each room of your house.

Amazon Echo Plus

The new Amazon Echo Plus has the same new design, an improved sound as well as a built-in Smart Home Hub. The Plus comes with a 3″ Neodymium woofer and an increased back volume which is said to keep the bass strong, while the mids and highs sound clearer. The Echo Plus now comes with an embedded temperature sensor that can detect the temperature in your room, which then sends a notification to your phone as well as turns on the AC which is connected to a smart plug. The Echo Plus is available in Charcoal, Heather Gray and Sandstone colors.

Also, there’s a Zigbee smart home hub integration using which users can say “Alexa discover my devices” phrase and the Plus will automatically discover and setup compatible lights and plugs, nearby.

Amazon Echo Sub

The Amazon Echo Sub is a new subwoofer, which is a companion device that works with other Echo devices. Users can say Alexa Turn up Bass, to turn the Sub and play your music through it. Users can connect the Sub to compatible Echo devices to create 1.1 and 2.1 pairing for stereo sound. There’s also an equalizer feature which lets users adjust bass, midrange, and treble by just using your voice.
