Amazon’s Alexa is the personal voice assistant from Amazon, clearly an opponent to the Apple Siri, Google Now, and Microsoft Cortana. But the Amazon Alexa isn’t just a simple voice assistant. Today, a Chinese company named iMCO has introduced a smartwatch on the crowdsourcing platform Indiegogo, to raise $80,000 to make this device.
The iMCO CoWatch will be the first smartwatch to be built around the Alexa personal assistant. The company still has 1 month left to reach their goal, but as of writing this article, they have already collected a sum of $32,141 out of their total $80,000 goal. If you back the project, you are getting a smartwatch for just $159 plus shipping.
They have various levels of backing that you can choose from, but the least amount that you can back them with is $159 + shipping. You can even order a bundle of 2 watches if you like them right away.
The CoWatch comes packed with a dual-core processor, clocked at 1.2GHz and 300MHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The display on the watch is a 400 x 400 pixels Super AMOLED round display with a pixel density of 286 PPI. The smartwatch offers up to 32 hours of battery life with an always-on display.
The watch is Water Resistant and also packs a heart rate sensor along with a couple of other sensors including Gyrometer, Accelerometer, and Magnetometer. Of course, it offers voice commands via Amazon Alexa, and is compatible with devices running Android Lollipop 5.0 and above, and iOS 9 or above. The watch also provides you with a Bluetooth audio control that you can use to control the music from your phone.
With it being Amazon Alexa enabled, you can actually use it to control your appliances and make your watch a Smartwatch in a true sense. If you want to back this product, head over to their Indiegogo campaign page right now and order one for yourself today!
