Apple alongside the iOS 9.3 OS update has also released watchOS 2.2 update for Apple watch users. With the latest watchOS 2.2, iPhones running iOS 9.3 and later can now pair with multiple Apple watches and swap between them without the need to pair and repair each Apple watch with your iPhone. You can manually switch between multiple Apple watches using the Apple Watch App on your iPhone. The 4-inch Apple iPhone SE was launched at the event yesterday along with the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
Another interesting feature is in the Apple Maps section, now users can access the menu screen directly on launching the App to get shortcut options like directions to your saved locations like work, home etc similar to what we see in Google Maps. Earlier you would get your current location and to get options for Search and Contacts by using Force Touch. The Search bar is also easily accessible and the My Location button gives options similar to the old OS, on Force touch you will get options like Search, Contacts, Transit, and now Nearby which gives categories like Food, Drinks, Shopping, Travel and Health to help find the cheapest places in each category.
There are several new features for developers included in the watchOS 2.2 as well. Apple has dropped the price of Apple Watch with the 38mm variant starting at $299 and the 42mm variant starting at $349. This gives the Apple watch a decent $50 price drop from official Apple.com store, there have been many retail outlets giving huge discounts up to $100 but this is a welcome price cut and with the latest Apple Watch down the line it was kind of expected.
Apple has released new Bands for the Apple watch, the Woven Nylon Band will be available in seven different colors available for $49 for the 38mm and 42mm variants. The Sport band is also available in 22 different colors and costs $49 for the 38mm and 42mm variants. Other bands are also available like Leather Loop, Milanese Loop, Modern Buckle and Classic Buckle.
