Garmin which is popular brand in the wearable market has announced their latest smartwatch the Vivoactive HR along with an activity tracker, the vivoactive 3. The Vivoactive HR is a GPS smartwatch with Garmin Elevate wrist heart rate technology and accelerometer. The display measures 20.7 mm x 28.6 mm with a full-color Chroma display having resolution of 148 x 205 pixels. The smartwatch comes with built-in GPS-enabled sports apps for walking, running, biking, swimming, golfing, paddle boarding, rowing, skiing and snowboarding.
the Vivoactive HR sports an always-on touchscreen which is designed to be visible in direct sunlight to help during outdoor activities and stay connected by keeping track of their activity like the number of steps while walking or climbing etc, distance covered while cycling, swimming etc.
Users can easily personalize their vivoactive HR with the Connect IQ store where you can download free apps, widgets, watch faces and data fields. To keep track of the various types of activities like walking, running, biking, swimming and elliptical training it is equipped with Garmin Move IQ which continuously monitors for periods of sustained activity and automatically recognizes the particular activities on its own.
To view your full day’s activity in a timeline view you have to connect and sync with Garmin Connect. Along with acting as a fitness and activity tracker it also has normal functions of a watch like date, calendar and alarm. The device comes with Rechargeable lithium ion battery, promises to give up to 8 days in smartwatch mode which includes 24/7 heart rate monitoring without GPS and gives 13 hours of battery life with GPS turned on.
The Vivoactive HR is available in regular and extra-large fit black bands, there are additional accessory bands available in black, white, force yellow and lava red priced at $29.99 each. The Garmin Vivoactive HR is priced at $249.99 and will begin shipping in second quarter of 2016.
