Sony has announced the PlayStation VR, a virtual reality system which works with the PlayStation 4 at the Annual Game Developers Conference. The PS VR will be available from October 2016 worldwide from Japan, North America, Europe and Asia. The final retail or consumer variant of the PS VR was unveiled and more than 50 games available with it.
Users can also download Playroom VR, from Japan Studio as a free download from PlayStation Store, it includes six games with it. There will be five virtual reality experiences developed specially for PS VR like The London Heist, VR Luge etc. The PlayStation VR is a 5.7-inch device with OLED display having a resolution of 1920×RGB×1080 (960×RGB×1080 per eye).
You get 100 degrees field of view, it is equipped with Six-axis motion sensing system having three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer. It has two units the VR headset and the processor unit which measure 187x185x277 mm (VR headset) in dimensions and the processor unit measures 143x36x143mm. For connectivity, it includes HDMI, AUX, Stereo Headphone Jack for the VR Headset and the Processor Unit has HDMI TV, HDMI PS$, USB, HDMI, AUX connections.
The processor unit helps in 3D audio processing, Social Screen including mirroring mode, separate mode and Cinematic mode. The PlayStation VR will be available worldwide from October 2016 in Japan, North America, European and Asian countries. The PlayStation VR suggested price is US$399 or €399, £349 which is approximately Rs. 26865 and is said to be available for pre-order soon. the box contains VR Headset, Processor Unit, VR headset connection cable, HDMI cable, USB cable, Stereo headphones with a earpiece, AC power cord and AC adaptor.
