Standing desks are good for many reasons, but they usually don’t do much justice when it comes to holding PCs. Desks have been good for only laptops, thanks to the portability, but now, Lian Li has made a motorized standing desk that can also hold all components to become a gaming PC.
Lian Li is a Taiwanese case manufacturer who is well versed with designing the best cases for PCs and thus, something that does two much-needed jobs in a single piece shouldn’t be a surprise. The DK-04 is an electrical height adjusting table that has a height range from 780mm to 1170mm.
How big is the casing to hold the components? The HDD bay in it can hold up to 10 hard drive bays, where four trays have two drive bays allowing either 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives. Two 2.5-inch drive bays are located on the M/B tray.
To keep the temperature in tow, cool air is pulled in using four front fans, and four rear fans push out the warm air. These are 120mm wide each. The size of arms and stands can be adjusted. For the connectivity, the Lian Li DK-04 has four USB 3.0 ports and the other inclusions are RGB LED Dimmer, Air filter, and an LED display, up/down controls, Memory buttons to set particular heights to reach to.
The legs of the standing desk are so strong that they can hold a weight of up to 100kg. The desktop casing has a tempered glass to add to the strength. Not just strength, but the video says that the table top is only that sheet of glass that makes it a transparent one, and lifting that will allow you to add or remove the components.
Hey, don’t get confused while reading all this – you are not getting any of the PC parts embedded in this. All of these are the compatibilities and you will have to buy everything else to build the PC within this case. So, it’s upon you to decide whether the DK-04 is worth a buy for the price of $1,499 in the U.S. Interested in getting one? or you’d rather have a laptop standing on an affordable motorized standing desk?
