The one app that many JioPhone users were waiting for, i.e., WhatsApp is finally available for the JioPhone and JioPhone that run the Kai OS operating system. The app was rumored to be launching soon after much internal testing, and it is finally made available. WhatsApp has managed to keep the messages, photos, and videos in the chat encrypted end-to-end.
Not just messaging, WhatsApp for Kai OS also includes the voice messaging feature as well. Users will be able to record and send voice messages to WhatsApp contacts with a couple of taps. However, the App won’t have Augmented Reality features and stories-styled statuses, that the Android and iOS counterparts have.
WhatsApp is available in the JioPhone AppStore starting September 10, 2018, and will be rolled out on all JioPhones by September 20, 2018. People can download WhatsApp on both the JioPhone and the JioPhone 2 by visiting the AppStore and clicking on Download.
Earlier Kai OS had received the Facebook app, while the support for Twitter and Youtube app still isn’t available.
