Is there any power saving mode available in the device?
Although you might not want it always, the Marathon M5 Plus from Gionee does have two Power saving modes that can be accessed either from the Battery settings or by going to the System Manager app where the options are available.
- Power Saving mode reduces the performance and lets you choose whether to have a green background or a dark theme activated for better power saving.
- Extreme Power saving mode takes it to the next level by changing the interface completely. Only phone, contacts, messaging and clock can be used in the Extreme power saving mode. All the widgets will be gone in this mode.
Is there any smart gesture feature available in the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus?
There are a few good gesture features included in the Amigo OS of the device. Following are the ones you get when you check it out in the Smart gestures option under Settings.
- Smart dial & Smart answer – Pickup the phone by taking it close to the ear so that the sensor recognizes and automatically picks up the call, or you can lift the phone when on a particular contact page or messaging thread for the call to connect.
- Pause alarm – Flip back the phone to pause the on-going alarm.
- Black screen gestures – Draw a particular shape to open apps that are set for it. This can be done with the screen is turned off.
- Smart bright screen – When the front camera detects that you are viewing the screen, it will keep the screen on.
- Double click wake – This is a very good function, where you can double tap on the turned off screen to activate it.

I have purchased a Gionee M5 Plus on 2nd June 2016 in India. Double Click Wake is working fine but the double Click sleep was initially working on double clickiing on any place of the scree. But now it is working on double clicking on the blank place where there is no icon only. By this I will have to look everytime the blank space on the screen to double click to go to sleep mode. Please suggest how to get back to the original system of double clicking onaywhere in the screen to go for sleep mode.
There is no video call facility in the Call option
There is no message scheduling in the message option
There is no pause button while recording video
There is no option to take still image while recording video
Therre is no option for ZOOM while recording video
Please respond how to update those features in the phone ?
