Xiaomi has been doing quite good with the networking products, i.e. routers, though many might not be knowing about it because except for unofficial retailers who source it to other markets, the company hasn’t released them anywhere outside the home market, i.e. China.
The latest router from Xiaomi is the Mi Router 3, which is a Dual-band router that supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connectivity, and it comes with a four antenna design, which doesn’t look bad at all. Think of any router from other brands in comparison, you’d forget about the four antennas on this and adore the design of the plain white body of it.
The router that is said to be faster and stronger comes powered by MT7620A processor along with 128MB SLC Nand Flash and 128MB DDR2 RAM. There is a 2.4G WiFi2X2 connectivity with 802.11N protocol at 300Mbps, and 5G WiFi2X2 connectivity with 802.11AC protocol at 867Mbps. It is an External Omni-directional, multi-element high-gain antenna 4 and there is a natural cooling process and is said to have a large area coverage.
The router can support connectivity with up to 126 devices at once. The Mi WiFi app helps in connectivity and managing the network and router. There are some good security features in the router, including Anti-rub network / anti-hack / anti-hijacking / anti-virus / anti-fraud / anti-phishing / anti-malware sites.
Other routers announced recently: Mi Wi-Fi router with 1TB/6TB router, Mi Wi-Fi Nano Router.
The router is priced at 149 Yuan, which comes to about Rs. 1500. Just like the other routers announced earlier, there are scarce chances of this going out to the other markets, including India. Apart from this, Xiaomi also announced its MIJIA Ecosystem and a IH Electric rice cooker.
