TP-Link, a company well known for their network gear, mainly routers and modems, has launched their all new router, called the TP-Link Archer C50. The Archer C50 boasts an 802.11ac dual-band WiFi, meaning it can run on 5GHz as well as 2.4GHz. The 2.4GHz network has a better range than that of the 5GHz network, but the 5GHz network can provide a higher bandwidth that the 2.4GHz lacks.
The TP-Link Archer C50 features a simplistic design with 2 antennas, guaranteeing good network coverage and speeds. As I’ve described earlier, it makes use of the 802.11ac Wi-Fi network to obtain the best possible speeds for a Wireless Router.
TP-Link has an interesting feature in a lot of their routers which include a USB port. The Archer C50 is nothing different. It also comes with a USB port to connect your Printer or an external storage device to make it accessible across the network. TP-Link has a special utility for Windows and Mac that you can download to connect to your printer wirelessly or even access the shared storage connected to the router via FTP.
In terms of the ports that the router possesses, there are a number of them, located on the back. There is one WAN port, where you can connect your modem, which has internet access and apart from that, there are 4 ethernet ports for you to connect up to 4 devices with this router. Just alongside that there is a USB port that allows you the printer and file sharing functionality. There is also a power button and a power input socket towards the end.
