ASUS has announced a new gaming PC in their Republic of Gamers Series, the ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX, today. The ROG Strix GL12CX is the first desktop to use the recently launched Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti graphics. Apart from this, the PC also uses a specially binned Intel CPUs that are factory overclocked.

CPU & GPU
The heart of the ROG Strix GL12CX is the 9th Gen Intel Core i9 9900K Octa-core processor which is custom-cooled using a liquid cooling system. According to ASUS, the custom fitted liquid cooling system ensures uninterrupted, reliable performance. The Custom Cooler Master CPU liquid cooler keeps the CPU cool with the help of a 90 mm fan. Users can also custom tune the fully unlocked Core i9 Processor using ASUS’s Armoury Crate software. The Armoury Crate software also lets you customize the Aura Sync Lighting of the PC.
For the graphics, it comes with a Geforce GTX 2080 Ti which has 11 GB of VRAM and uses Nvidia’s latest Turing architecture. Belonging to the Geforce RTX series, the 2080 Ti uses three sets of cores for various uses. The CUDA cores are for rasterization, the new RT cores are for Ray Tracing effects, while the Tensor cores accelerate noise removal from frames using Deep Learning Super Sampling.
Storage & Memory
The ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX comes with up to 512 GB of PCIe SSD, and has a hot swap SSD bay for users to quickly swap their storage drives, for easier storage upgrades, down the road. The new Z390 motherboard offers ASUS’s DIMM.2 module slots which allow users to slot in two M.2 SSDs. It can be used for Dual NVMe connections with RAID configurations, for faster read/write speeds.
Apart from this, the ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX can be configured up to 2 TB of 7200 rpm Hard Drives for storing your game library, documents as well as multimedia files. The RAM on the PC can be configured up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory, clocked at 2666 MHz.
Connectivity
As for the ports, the ROG Strix GL12CX comes with a total of six USB ports of which two are USB-A 3.1 ports; two are USB-A 2.0 ports. There are also five audio jacks, a 2-in-1 card reader, a digital S/PIDF connector, a Gigabit Ethernet port. The wireless connectivity options on the GL12CX include 802.11ac Wave 2 Dual-band Wi-Fi, along with Bluetooth 5.0.
Pricing and Availability of ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX
The ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX will be available from December. The pricing of the desktop PC isn’t announced yet.
