Xiaomi has launched their latest smartphone in China which is a variant of their popular Mi 4, it is named as the Xiaomi Mi 4c and is priced in between the two variants of Mi 4. With the exterior look taken from the Mi 4i and the internals a bit improved compared to the Mi 4 the device can be compared to the likes of OnePlus 2.
With the USB Type-C port present in the Xiaomi Mi 4c which was first introduced in the OnePlus 2 there are some similarities between the two. Let us look at the comparisons between the two devices in detail to see how they fare up against each other in comparison.
Display
There is a huge difference between the two devices, with he Xiaomi Mi 4c sporting a 5-inch fullHD display in comparison to the bigger 5.5-inch fullHD display on the OnePlus 2. Processor
The Xiaomi Mi 4c sports a Hexa Core Snapdraogn 808 SoC with Quad core 1.44 GHz Coretx-A53 and dual core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57. In comparison the OnePlus 2 have a more powerful Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC with Quad-core 1.56 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57. The OnePlus two is better specified in the processor segment with a top of the line more powerful Snapdragon 810 SoC.
RAM and Storage
Both the devices come with two variants based on the RAM and Storage space specs. The Xiaomi Mi 4c comes with a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage variant along with a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant. The OnePlus 2 comes with a 3GB RAM with 16GB internal storage variant and a more powerful 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage variants. With a more powerful SoC and a bigger RAM and internal storage space the OnePlus Two is the winner in terms of processing power.
Camera
Both the device sport a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera, the Xiaomi Mi 4c has dual tone dual LED flash. The OnePlus 2 has Laser Auto Focus and Optical Image Stabilization included giving it an edge in terms of the features in the camera set up over the Mi 4c although the sensors are similar. There was a recent OxygenOS v2.1.0 update which brought in a lot of features for improving the camera features in OnePlus 2.
OS
Both the devices come with Android Lollipop v5.1.1 with their own UI over it. The OnePlus comes with Oxygen OS and the Xiaomi Mi 4c with the MIUI 7 over it. Both are equally good and it depends on the preference of the user to decide which UI is better suitable and liked by their personal choice.
Battery
The Mi 4c comes with a 3120 mAh battery in comparison to the 3300 mAh battery in the OnePlus 2. With the bigger display and more powerful Processor and RAM the battery life of the OnePlus 2 will be similar to the Mi 4c. Both the devices sport the USB Type-C port for Quick Charge, so charging times will be similar. OnePlus 2 users are complaining of faster discharge of battery, we have to see how the Mi 4c fares in terms of battery performance.
Conclusion
The OnePlus 2 comes with a bigger display at 5.5-inch and a more powerful SoC having Snapdragon 810 and 4GB RAM along with 64GB internal storage in comparison to the 5-inch fullHD display and Snapdragon 808 Soc with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which cannot be expanded further. Both the devices are equally good, if you are looking for a bigger display go for the OnePlus 2. The Mi 4c is very competitively priced at $235 for the 32GB variant with 3GB RAM in comparison to the less powerful variant of OnePlus 2 priced at $329 for the 3GB RAM and 16GB variant.
