OnePlus X is the latest smartphone launched by OnePlus targeting the mid-range smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi 4 is one of the devices which comes in similar category having almost identical specifications. Although the Mi 4 is almost a year old it is still a choice for many, with the OnePlus X coming in the same price range gives it very high competition. The Mi 4 was launched at a higher price of Rs. 19,999 for the 16GB but the price has been reduced to Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 17,999 for the 64GB variant. The OnePlus X on the other hand is priced at Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 22,999.

Both the displays are similar in specifications having 5-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The OnePlus X comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the display and the Mi 4 also comes with Corning Glass 3 protection. So in all aspects both the devices are similar to each other.

Processor:
In the processor segment as well both the devices are similar in specifications with a Quad-Core 2.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 SoC. There is nothing here to compare between the two as well as both are identical.
RAM and Storage:
Both the devices come with similar 3GB of RAM but the difference is in the internal storage segment where the OnePlus X comes with 16GB internal memory which is expandable using microSD card slot which is also used as the second SIM slot. The Mi 4 comes in two variants of 16GB / 64GB which are non-expandable and come with a price difference as well. Both have their own merits and demerits, the limited storage option is not like by some which does not give the freedom to expand in case the need arises, whereas the second SIM alternating as the microSD card slot is like giving a feature but not giving it entirely making it either a single SIM device or a device restricted to 16GB memory.
Camera:
Both the devices have similar specs with 13MP rear camera and 8MP front-facing camera, the Mi 4 camera is decent enough and if we see the OnePlus X camera module on paper looks good but in real can comment only after using it in person. It is similar to the rear camera in OnePlus One.
Connectivity:
This is where the real difference is seen, the OnePlus X comes with 4G LTE support which is absent in the Xiaomi Mi 4, the presence of 4G LTE has become a must have feature even in budget devices these days. The Mi4 is a single SIM device compared to the OnePlus X which supports Dual SIM device.
Battery:
The Xiaomi Mi 4 is known for its battery life sporting a 3080 mAh battery it is comparatively better than the 2525 mAh battery of the OnePlus X. There are some factors in which the Mi 4 is better in comparison to the OnePlus X like the battery which is a 3080mAh battery in comparison to the 2,525 mAh battery in the OnePlus X. In terms of pricing the Mi4 16GB variant is Rs. 14,999 9 (non-expandable) in comparison to the Rs. 16,999 for the OnePlus X which is expandable, the OnePlus X has a 64GB variant as well which is priced at Rs. 17,999. Some users might like the MIUI OS over the Oxygen OS but it eventually depends on the user.
