Lenovo Vibe P1 vs Vibe P1m Comparison

Lenovo has recently introduced the Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m into the Indian market, although named similarly there are a lot of differences between the two devices. Both these devices were first announced in September at the IFA 2015 Berlin event. One important feature for these smartphones is the presence of massive battery capacities included along with keeping the thickness of the devices slim.

There are many differences between the two devices which we will be discussing in details later on in the post, lets first look at the similarities between the two, both the devices come with high capacity batteries and have OTG charging feature which allows users to turn these devices into a power bank and charge other devices with the help of a Micro-USB to Micro-USB cable. On the left side of the device there is a sliding button similar to the one on the iPhone, but here the slider will turn your smartphone into a power saving mode when turned on. The similarities end here, so let us discuss in detail about the differences between Lenovo Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m.

Display:

There is a major difference between both the devices in the display segment, with the Vibe P1 sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution compared to the Vibe P1m having a 5-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixels resolution. The Vibe P1 is bigger and better in the display segment.

Processor:

The Lenovo Vibe P1 is more powerful of the two, with an Octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor in comparison to the 1.0GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor in the Vibe P1m.

RAM and Storage:

Both the devices come with 2GB RAM but the Vibe P1 comes with 32GB inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 128GB using microSD card. The Vibe P1m on the other hand comes with 16GB expandable up to 32GB using microSD card.

Camera:

The Lenovo Vibe P1 comes with 13MP rear camera and the Vibe P1m comes with an 8MP rear camera and both the devices sport 5MP front facing camera.

Battery:

These devices come with massive battery capacities, the Vibe P1 comes with a 5000mAh battery and the Vibe P1m sports a 4000mAh battery which can be used to charge other phones as well thanks to the OTG charging functionality and use it as a power bank, you will require a Micro-USB to Micro-USB cable for that.

On the Connectivity front both the devices are similar, both the devices support Dual SIM with the Vibe P1 supporting dual Nano-SIM card and the P1m supporting dual Micro-SIM cards. Both the devices run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI on top of it. The pricing of the devices is Rs. 15,999 for the Lenovo Vibe P1 and the Vibe P1m is priced at Rs. 7,999.

One additional feature which the Lenovo Vibe P1 comes with, is the Home button which comes with a fingerprint sensor which is absent in the Vibe P1m. Both the devices are priced and based on specs are too far apart to be competition to each other placed in two different price points.
