Sony India has strengthened the RX100 lineup in India with the announcement of release of the RX100 V camera in the Indian market, adding to the popular compact camera series. The new camera boasts to have the world’s fastest autofocus speed and the most number of autofocus points, and even the world’s fastest continuous shooting.
The 20.1-megapixel camera has a 1.0 type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor and the autofocus speed that the camera boasts is just 0.05 seconds. The Phase detection autofocus technology of the camera helps get about 315 autofocus points at one time, which is said to cover about 65% of the frame of the camera. The sensor is supported by a DRAM chip, a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T 24-70 mm F1.8 to 2.8 large aperture lens, and a new front-end LSI chip that maximises processing speed.
The Sony Cybershot RX100 V is capable to recording 4K videos with full pixel readout and no pixel binning, and there is super slow video recording also possible with speeds of up to 960 fps. A new AF-A mode in the camera helps it to automatically choose between continuous and single-shot AF modes and switch between them as well. The high-speed anti-distortion shutter can a maximum speed of 1/32000 second.
As is the case with the RX100 series, the camera maintains its compactness but this time, there is Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities. The camera is already available at all Sony Center, Alpha flagship stores and major electronic stores across India with the price set at Rs. 79990.
