The third generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has finally been unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018 and the prices start at Rs 4.99 lakh and go all the way up to 7.96 lakh for the top end variant. The Suzuki Swift comes in both Petrol as well as Diesel variants and is available in both Manual and Automatic transmission options for both Petrol and Diesel, this is the first time that the company chose to add a Diesel Automatic variant for the Swift.
The new Swift hatchback is a complete makeover from its predecessor and is built on the newer and lighter Heartect platform from the company. The new chassis that the car is based on, help make the structure stronger and more rigid. The design got a complete overhaul as well and the new Swift comes with a larger grille on the front and has the modern and more elegantly designed headlamps that we previously saw on the Swift Dzire. There is also LED DRLs on the front and LED Taillights on the rear, the wheels on the car are diamond cut alloy wheels that look fabulous.
The interior of the car has also been revamped and the new generation Maruti Suzuki comes with better quality materials. The dual-pod instrument cluster on the dashboard looks premium, to say the least, and the steering wheel design adds a very sporty touch to it. The car comes with the SmartPlay infotainment system with support for Apple Carplay and Android Auto on the top variants.
The legroom on the rear seats have been worked upon and offers more space now, this is partly because of the wider body and a longer wheelbase. coming to the Boot capacity, it has been increased and now stands at a capacity of 268 liters. The engine on the car is something that has been tested by the company across several models and over the years.
Specifications
The Maruti Suzuki comes with a 1.2 liters K-Series Petrol Engine that produces 82 brake horsepower and 115Nm of peak torque while the 1.3-Litre DDiS Diesel engine produces 74 bhp and 190Nm of peak torque. Both the variants come with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT(Automated manual transmission) options.
As certified by Text Agency under Rule 115, the mileage of the new Swift 2018 is rated at 22.0 kmpl for the Petrol variant and 28.4 kmpl for the diesel variant.

This car also comes with optional AMT which adds the convenience of automatic shifting without affecting the fuel efficiency. The top variant also comes with automated climate control
Pricing and Availability
The Deliveries for the car is expected to start later this month while the waiting period has already extended to about 6 weeks to 8 weeks depending on the variant. The pricing ranges from Rs 4.99 Lakh to Rs 7.96 Lakh based on the variant of choice.
