Datsun has officially launched the redi-GO hatchback car in India, and the price begins from Rs. 2.38 lacs. The car comes as a competition to Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and the Kwid from Renault. It is a 799cc three-cylinder petrol motor that powers the car.
The Datsun redi-GO was well expected to be launched in India with a price tag that many can afford, and for the design and what the car offers for the entry-level consumer base, the car does have a good price starting from Rs. 2.39 lacs, ex-showroom price in Delhi.

“The launch of redi-GO is another demonstration of our commitment and promise to India,” says Arun Malhotra, MD, Nissan Motors.
The Nissan Datsun redi-GO is 3,429mm long, 1,560mm wide, 1,541mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,348mm. The car carries over from the success of Renault Kwid in India and it targets the budget consumer base. The car has five exterior shades, and the fuel economy is boasted to be 25.17 kmpl. Datsun offers a warranty of 2 years / unlimited kilometres with free road -side assistance, and apart from that, the company is offering an optional three years additional warranty.
Renault stated that the Indian car market is majorly in the entry level, where one of the four cars sold are the small ones, and it is Maruti Suzuki dominating the segment.
The car has a five-shift manual transmission and there is an easy-to-read shift indicator that shows when is the time for the shifting to give maximum efficiency and performance.
The Datsun redi-GO has an i-SAT (Intelligent Spark Automated Technology) engine that automatically adjusts spark timing in response to fuel quality and power requirement. The car has a 4.7-metre turning radius.
Though one can reach the Datsun stores to book the car, the company has tied up with Snapdeal, where the user can pay an amount of Rs. 5000 (non-refundable) and book the car, and this amount will be later deducted from the final amount. The booking on Snapdeal would help the user to easily get in touch with one of the dealers. Of course, with most of the online deals, there are some offers. With the Snapdeal booking, A 2 nights and 3 days stay package at a Club Mahindra Resort and a 6 months AXA Road Side Assistance package will be offered. The customer can avail the offer after taking delivery of the vehicle.
