At the Auto Expo 2018, Honda Cars had unveiled the gorgeous looking Honda Amaze, the second gen. of the car after the first one was introduced back in April 2013. The Auto Expo had a lot to show, with several launches, showcases, and concepts boasted by every car manufacturer that attended it and showed what they are capable of, but while concepts are all good, it is the actual cars that get launched in the market that gather a lot of attention.
Honda had its own way of attracting the audience at the show floor, and while the Civic and CR-V launches were as classy as they can be, the showstopper had to be the new Honda Amaze itself.
The new Amaze comes in with several changes, both to the exterior and the interior. The all-new bold design that matches the Civic sedan is something the company should be proud of while hitting the mass segment with a touch of class and yet keeping the car at 4m length makes the new Amaze the compact sedan one has to look at. The new Amaze seems grown up with the design, with the classy rear and the chrome on the front.
The rear profile of the car has a subtle bootleg spoiler and the parking sensors on the rear, and the rear lights also seem to be similar to that of the WR-V from the company. The silhouette of the car is more balanced, and there are a flattened nose and a prominent bonnet, which all constitutes a good upgrade.
There were two colors showcased on the event floor and both boasted class with every angle. The higher nose is easily visible from the side of the car and the lines are made simpler and they seem like completely merging into the base. Not just this, the new Honda Amaze also brings in a newer shape for the windows, thanks to the changed C-pillars. There’s also the new request sensor given on the door handle, adding to the features borrowed from the higher-end City.
We had a chance to hop into the car and look at what the interiors are, and what is given on the inner side of the car is no less than what a regular sedan offers to its users. The difference here is that you aren’t going to shell out the price of a sedan for a car that looks and offers features like one.
Every important feature a user would expect, including an infotainment system with a large display, auto AC, SRS airbags, and the spacious interior space is offered in the new Honda Amaze. Oh, and not just that, the steering wheel with the new boss and shape makes it look bolder, though the infotainment controls on it are quite familiar to look at. The other inclusions in the new Amaze include keyless entry & go, a touch-screen HU, cruise control, adjustable headrests.
This was a world premiere of the new Honda Amaze done by the company, also defining what Honda has in the plans for the Indian users.
The new Honda Amaze was rightly in focus on the show floor but let’s even focus on what else the company had announced.
The Honda Civic 10th gen. was unveiled to compete with the likes of Toyota Corolla. Alongside that, there was the 5th. gen CR-V headed to compete with the Toyota Fortuner. The CR-V has got a lot of upgrades and changes to the exterior, including the LED headlights and fog lamps.
