Hyundai has launched its competitor to the very famous Ford Ecosport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV 300 and others, with the Hyundai Venue getting launched in India. The Venue is the subcompact SUV with the sub-4 meter length and it is claimed to be the first connected car in the country and have features that are going to be offered for the first time in this segment.
The number of choices available for the prospective buyers of the Venue is what keeps the car ahead of the others. A wide range of variants and also the price, starting from Rs. 650000 ex-showroom, brings it to the range where some good hatchback options are available. To start with, there is a 1.4-litre diesel engine pushing out 90PS/220Nm mated to a 6-speed manual and then, there is also a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 83PS/115Nm mated to a 5-speed manual. These were the base models, though. The real power is the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that gives out the 120PS of power and 172Nm torque coupled with a 7-speed DCT.
Hyundai claims that the Venue is the first made-in-India connected SUV and there is an embedded eSIM for the connectivity, and the name given to it is Blue Link. The Blue Link has features such as remote start, climate controls and location tracking along with SOS, alert police, engine immobilisation, as well as free service for the first three years from the company.
