BitTorrent has been known earlier for the Illegal content and now the revamped Bit Torrent Now is completely legal, providing content legally with the help of publishers. The company has officially announced that Bit Torrent Now App will be available for iOS and Apple TV as well and not just restricted to Android.
For making Bit torrent legal, the company is providing content as paid, free and ad-supported as well. BitTorrent has mentioned that a large number of publishers have signed up to share their content on the new BitTorrent Now platform like The Onion, Super Deluxe, and IHeartComix. Users will be asked to choose the content they wish to view choose from all kinds of content from those publishers and more.
“With BitTorrent Now, fans can find films from artists they love on their iPhone during their commute and then favourite to stream later on the couch in front of their Apple TV. They’ll also have the ability to follow artists they love, create playlists, and see what’s trending on social or in the BitTorrent community.”
It is important to note that the content being provided will be streamed directly from the BitTorrent servers and not from peer to peer as seen in torrent sites, this assures safety and greater speed as well. The App will be having something called Bundles which let the user choose the bundle of their choice by either paying for it or choosing the ad- supported content. This gives greater control for published to know how their content is being used.
Only the name being used is BitTorrent but there is no feature for Peer to Peer element available in the App as seen in the desktop version. So it can be called as a streaming service to be precise, with the developers promising P2P element in the near future, we have to wait for it to judge the App which is still new to the scene.
