Google is rolling out its family plan for Google Play Music which can include six people in the plan, this was teased about couple of months ago in a blog post by the company. The Google play music family plan will be available on Google Play Music in coming days.
The Google Play Music Family plan will be initially made available in US, Canada, the UK, Australia, France and Germany initially and later on other countries will be included. With this plan users can all similar features which will be available on individual subscriptions like ad-free listening, unlimited access to 35 million songs along with each family member can stream music all at the same time without any problem.
With each member of the family having different music likings, it becomes difficult for them to share the same plan for everyone. With this plan up to 6 members can be added in the family plan which costs $14.99 and it even gives your family access to Youtube Red restricted only to the US. So when you are logging to your account you will not be seeing your other family members favourites and your favourite tracks will be lost in the huge list of songs favourited by your other family members. This will give you your own exclusive account all for just $14.99 which brings it around $2.5 for each member per month.
If you are not able to find any particular song in Google Play Music’s library, users can upload up to 50,000 songs on the cloud to listen to anytime. The music app segment is gaining a lot of competition with Apple Music and Spotify competing with Google Play Music and in turn reducing their prices eventually where the user is benefiting. Google is going to shut down Songza which is a playlist-based streaming service acquired in 2013. Even Beats was shut down by Apple and asked all its users to migrate to Apple Music.
