Facebook is taking a lot from Snapchat these days when it comes to features offered. Slowly, you’d see several of those, both on Instagram and WhatsApp. Recently, the Instagram app introduced Stories, and that posed as a direct hit against snapchat’s main feature. Now, WhatsApp seems to have started getting some features that are inspired from Snapchat.
The latest beta version of WhatsApp, which won’t be available right away to every user, is available for the testers but as usual, the APK files are out for the same. It is the WhatsApp 2.16.264 version whose beta version brings the features like Scribble tool that is quite famous among Snapchat users, and a front-flash feature is also given, which basically whitens the screen when a selfie is being taken. Of course, you can’t add a physical flashlight to the device, right!
The latest Beta version also brings some changes to the UI of the camera in WhatsApp. When you capture a photo, additional editing tools are shown with the features like a T button and a pencil that will allow you to scribble text onto the picture. A color picker will let the user change the color of the pen. Snapchat users will already know what to expect.
The features will be made available only if you capture a photo using the camera through WhatsApp and not for the photos that are already in the Gallery of the phone.
WhatsApp has been recently getting a lot of new features including Quote messaging, forwarding messages to multiple contacts, and also a Voicemail feature where you can send a voice mail if the other contact misses your call.
