YU Televentures hasn’t limited itself to smartphones now, after launching three devices earlier, it has come up with an instant photo printer that works with smartphones. Named as YU Yupix, the printer is something like LG’s Pocket Photo printer and it comes with Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity to make the connections possible with smartphones around.
The company is also holding an event on 8th Sep., which is about an announcement of a smartphone, though we expect to see the YUPIX printer to be showcased for a hands-on experience. The printer is said to be using Dye Sublimation technology, and offering a 291dpi printing resolution, and it is capable of printing 10 continuous copies at the speed of 1 print per minute.
Inside the YUPIX, there is a Ink Ribbon & Photo Paper cartridge, which is embedded deep enough to keep it waterproof and fingerprint-proof. The pairing and printing is possible through a separate app that is available on Google Play Store for Android smartphones, and the connectivity is either through NFC, or Wi-Fi Direct. The iPhone users will have to wait for now, as an iOS app is in the development.

The cartridge refill system is already listed on Amazon India, but it shows as currently unavailable, and that will be available alongside the actual YUPIX printer, both of which go on sale from September 7th, exclusively on Amazon India.
Something similar to this, LG has a Pocket Photo Printer that is available for around Rs. 10000 in India, and this printer uses Thermal printing technology, and thus cartridge doesn’t need replacement but a special paper refill pack is what the user needs in order to get more prints. These papers come with the colors, which get activated with thermal processing.
