Xiaomi already has launched yet another power bank with the 20000mAh Mi Power bank to add to its list of three power banks which the company had launched earlier with 5200mAh, 10400mAh and 16000mAh capacity. Xiaomi has given the manufacturing to Texas Instruments which also produces the other three power banks, it comes with nine layers of circuit protection.
Xiaomi has made the power bank compact and it weighs less than the 16000 mAh power bank thanks to the material used in the new device. It is made with ABS plastic which is said to give similar strength and is comparatively lighter than the aluminum body of the earlier power banks. The company promises better grip and less scratches with the new plastic body.
There is a change in the design of the power bank as well with the power button placed on the side, the two USB slots for output and one input slot is placed on the top of the device. The dual output USB slots let you charge two devices simultaneously. The power bank is said to come with nine layers of circuit protection, it offers 5.1V / 3.6A output which is similar to the 16000mAh power bank.
The weight of the 20000 mAh power bank is 338 grams which is lighter than the 16000mAh power bank which weighs 350 grams, this weight difference is due to the material being used in the new power bank. The manufacturers of batteries are LG or Panasonic which are promising up to 93% conversion rate and a minimum 12700mAh actual output. To get the power bank charged to 11000mAh, takes only 3 hours as the device comes with fast charging (5V/2A 9V/2A 12V/1.5A).
The 20000mAh Mi Power Bank will go on sale on November 11th in China through Mi.com without any update regarding the global roll out. It is priced at 149 Chinese Yuan which is approximately US$ 23.5 or Rs. 1554.
