If you are getting bored of your regular keyboard or you are looking for a keyboard which lets you remap your keys then here is the Ultimate keyboard for you, no we are not calling it ‘Ultimate’ but the company which is introducing the keyboard is named so. The Hungarian Startup Ultimate Gadget Laboratories has introduced a mechanical keyboard which splits in half literally.
The Ultimate Hacking Keyboard is designed to be sturdy even when it is split in half thanks to the metallic connectors which help it join and separate as well as to give it the sturdiness. To keep the two parts joined together a telephone cable has been used, it is said that you can even replace it with a longer cable if you need more space between the two parts. There are other keyboards as well which come with the similar split type of design for their Keyboards even from company like Microsoft.
It is being touted as a Hackers Keyboard as the keyboard layout can be completely customized suiting your needs and user can configure application specific layouts with fully customization layouts. The company has included mouse support within the keyboard which is said to mimic touch gestures on smartphones and tablets. If you are a gamer, then look away as the keyboard is not meant for gaming due to the lack of dedicated row of functional keys. Monda, the developer and programmer of the keyboard says that by eliminating the extraneous keys from the keyboard to make it more compact, the Enter, Shift, Tab and A button shift the keyboard in a Mouse mode.
The keyboard comes with software which allows you to create and save additional profiles which work with Windows, Mac, Linux and Android systems, as iOS does not support USB input at the moment it is not included at the moment. The keyboard comes with color schemes like Blue, Brown and Red Switches along with Black, Clear and Green options.
The Ultimate Hacking Keyboard will start at around $200 and is being launched today with a funding goal of $200,000 on Crowd Supply. It will start shipping in the second half of 2016. Once the goal is reached the pricing of the retail units might be set at $250 and investors can get it for $220.
