Sony in their launch event have unveiled three concept devices or smart accessories, we are calling it a concept because of the fact that the availability etc of the devices are not yet known. The Xperia Eye, Xperia Projector and Xperia Agent were announced at MWC 2016 along with Xperia X series smartphone- Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance.
Xperia Ear:
Sony has named all the devices apt showcasing their function properly. The Xperia Ear is an earpiece which is an hands-free personal assistant. It accepts voice prompts from your phone like calls, messages, notifications, calendar, events, weather, news etc. It pairs with your smartphone using NFC or Bluetooth and replies to any queries or any narrations and also to initiate and cancel calls, you can even send or dictate messages and navigate to a location with its help. the device comes with an all-day battery life in regular usage and comes with IPX2 water protection for any place usage.
Xperia Eye:
This is a 360-degree wearable camera with wide-angle lens, it is called wearable as it can be attached to your shirt as seen in the image and even worn around your neck (it will surely look awkward). Sony brings a 360-degree spherical lens for natural field of view. It comes with face and image recognition technology which lets you capture images throughout the day without out intervention making sure you never miss a shot. This is possible with use of intelligent shutter technology.
Xperia Projector:
This is another accessory which as the same suggests is a projector but with a twist. It projects a touch-enabled interface on any wall or smooth surface. It projects the interface on the wall directly and gives touch, gesture and voice controls directly on the wall. Sony has released a concept image of how the Xperia Projector works with basic notifications and features displayed like time, weather, calendar etc.
Xperia Agent:
The Xperia agent is another concept device which is said to act as a personalized assistant. It helps the user in day to day activities by responding to voice and gestures. It can be compared to the Amazon Echo which functions in a similar manner. The Xperia Agent provides users with information along with communications assistance and helps in controlling home appliances. It runs on Sony’s voice technology and accepts and responds using a number of commands. Without just audio response it is also equipped with a built-in camera and a projector display to show content on any surface.
There are other accessories as well called the RM-X7BT in-car Bluetooth commander which also uses Sony’s voice technology to control smartphone functions as well while driving. These are some impressive innovations being showcased which will be launched by Sony in the near future and are presently in concept phase it self.
