The accessory for Pokémon Go gamers that was announced back in September 2015 is finally coming into reality. It is the Pokémon Go Plus wearable accessory that Niantic, the makers of the game are going to make available from September 16th.
The accessory is priced at $35 and it will be available in most countries, while in some countries including India, the game has to still launch officially. The game makers also announced that Pokémon Go has reported over 500 million downloads, and this announcement was made at the Apple iPhone 7 launch event.
What’s so special about this accessory? It will allow the users to play the game without having to look at the smartphone screen all the time. Taking advantage and connecting through Bluetooth Low Energy, it’ll help catch Pokemon and take items from Pokestops. Now you’ll be able to play and enjoy your walk, run, hike, park trips or visits to the library without having to look at your screen all the time.
As you pass by a PokéStop, Pokémon GO Plus will vibrate and light up and alert you to the location. You’ll even be able to collect new items just by clicking the Pokémon GO Plus. If there’s nearby Pokémon hiding in your area you’ll be alerted with lights and vibrations; catch the Pokémon with a button on Pokémon GO Plus and then continue on your way (later, you can check your Journal to see which Pokémon you’ve just caught).
There’s this unofficial 3D Printed iPhone case too that you should check out if you want to catch Pokémon accurately on your phone screen. New to Pokémon Go? check out the Pokémon Go guide if you are starting up and want to learn more about it.
The craze for the game has been getting lowered with time because even though there have been a big number of downloads happening, not everyone would like to keep their eyes stuck on the phone screen all the time, and it even consumes a lot of phone battery. With the new accessory, Niantic will hope that people get the interest back as it just requires a press of a button.
