Along with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus; Samsung has also introduced the DeX Mobile-To-PC transition Tool which is somewhat similar to what we’ve seen with Microsoft’s Continuum. It is supported with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus which offers Android-based desktop experience.
Users need to connect the Samsung Galaxy S8, or the S8 Plus to the DeX docking station which then connects to any HDMI supported monitors as well as to any Bluetooth-enabled, USB or RF-type keyboard and mouse. Also, users can open up apps, Send messages, browse the Internet directly from the phone via the connected larger display and it also supports Keyboard and mouse gestures. You can adjust the window size and also shift between windows.
With the inbuilt Adaptive Fast Charging (AFC) technology, you can even charge the smartphone while it’s connected to the Dock. Samsung has showcased the productivity apps that will be available initially, that include Samsung Browser, MyFiles, Gallery and Samsung email, Microsoft apps, and Adobe mobile app suite are also compatible.
Availability: The DeX Station will be available globally along with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Depending on the region, the company might offer it as a bundle. However, there is info on the pricing of the DeX Station just yet.
