With Apple keeping in mind to give their Macs an internal upgrade every year along with an external design upgrade every three to four years, today it wasn’t only about the new 21.5-inch iMac with 4K Retina display and 27-inch iMac get a 5K Retina display. The accessories for the iMac have been upgraded, with the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2, Apple has revamped the accessories section to be shipped with the 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs.
To keep up with the ever advancing technology Apple has made sure that there is no option of changing batteries in their wireless accessories and has included a li-ion internal batteries which are chargeable. the Magic Mouse with some minor changes seen from the previous model with the aluminium door and the LED status lights removed replaced by a lightning port for charging. With the new Li-Ion battery Apple promises that with just 2 minutes of charging you will be able to use it for nine hours. Similar to the previous version the magic mouse 2 comes with large multi-touch surface which replaces the regular wheel and allows you to navigate by moving your finger up and down or side to side.
The Magic Mouse from Apple comes with similar design minus the tube on top of the keypad because of the absence of the AA batteries. And Apple promises the keyboard to last for a month with one full charge. It comes with a similar aluminium frame and plastic under case and similar keys with grey text on white keys. The keys placement has been adjusted to be more in like with the keyboard on the MacBook.
Coming to the Magic Trackpad 2 which has got a lot more aesthetic adjustment from the previous model. The tracking surface is extended from edge to edge and it is made thinner and flatter thanks to the last of AA batteries. The one most important addition is the Force Touch support which has been included in the Retina MacBook and the Retina Macbook Pro’s. Pressure sensitivity has been enabled, which helps in feeding different settings based on the amount of force used.
Apple is giving two accessories with the iMac and if you order an iMac be it the 21.5-inch or the 27-inch model you will be getting the Magic Keyboard and you have to choose from the Magic Mouse 2 or the Magic Trackpad 2. If you want the Magic Mouse it is included in the price but for a Magic Trackpad you have to shell out an extra $50.
If you are looking to purchase the accessories separately you have to pay $99 for the Magic Keypad, $79 for the Magic Mouse and $129 for the Magic Trackpad. All of which come with a lightning cable for charging and because of these additions the price hike from $69 to the present pricing can be seen.
