Samsung has launched their latest device running on their own Tizen OS, the Samsung Z3 which comes with Tizen 2.4 OS. This is the third device by Samsung in the Z series after the first device Samsung Z which was launched in 2014, later the Samsung Z1 was launched earlier this year in February limited to some regions only.
The Samsung Z3 comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display and runs on Tizen 2.4 OS. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7730S SoC coupled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB using microSD card. It comes with an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash and comes with a 5MP front-facing camera. It is powered by a 2600mAh battery and also comes with Ultra Power Saving mode which was available with TouchWiz. Samsung also mentioned about the Ultra Data saving mode which helps in saving mobile data usage.
Commenting on the launch, H.C Hong, President and CEO, Samsung India Electronics, said,
“The launch of Samsung Z3 re-emphasizes India’s significance as a key center for innovation and development on the Tizen operating system, with India being the first country to globally launch the Z3. We were encouraged by the huge popularity of Samsung Z1, the first Tizen OS powered smartphone that sold over one million units within six months of its launch earlier this year.”
The Samsung Z3 comes with connectivity features like 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, GPS with A-GPS, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. the device weighs just 137 grams in weight and measures 141.6x70x7.9mm in dimensions. It comes preloaded with games from Gameloft and Rovio with which Samsung has partnered and Vodafone will be giving 1GB data plan free per month for two months and Lifetime MixRadio access.
The Samsung Z3 will be available in three colors of Gold, Silver and Black, it is said to be available for sale from next week via offline retail stored priced at Rs. 8,490 and will be available on Snapdeal as well.
