ASUS has officially launched the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro. The Pro variant here attributes to the increase in RAM and programmable color AMOLED on the back.
The ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro come with 6.78-inch AMOLED display having a resolution of 1080 x 2448px resolution, and the maximum refresh rate is 165Hz. The display also has an enhanced touch sampling rate at 720Hz. For the refresh rate, it can be set between 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, and 165Hz. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The new ROG Phone 6 models come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, and while the ROG Phone 6 has 12/16GB LPDDR5 RAM, the ROG Phone 6 Pro has 18GB RAM while both the phones have UFS 3.1 storage with 256GB and 512GB options. A new cooling system is set in place for the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro, and the company claims that this can reduce the CPU temperature by about 10 degrees. The phone also has IPX4 splash-resistance.
Asus is bringing back its programmable AirTrigger ultrasonic buttons on the right-hand side and back of the phone allowing you to map your controls inside supported games. The phone also packs dual front-facing speakers, triple microphones, Dirac Virtuo spatial audio and a headphone jack. The phone has Android 12 with ROG UI and Zen UI.
The ROG Phone 6 models come with a 50MP Sony IMX766 alongside a 13MP ultrawide module and a 5MP macro cam, and the device also has a 12MP Sony IMX663 sensor on the front for selfies.
As it has been earlier, the ROG Phone 6 comes with a total capacity of 6000 mAh, with two 3000 mAh cells and there are two USB Type-C ports, and the fast charging support of a maximum of 65W.
