After quite a while and wait, ASUS has officially announced the flagship phone for 2019, the ASUS ZenFone 6, which is powered by the latest mobile platform from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855. At an event that was held in Valencia, Spain, the company has maintained most of the important specs and necessary inclusions in the device.
The ZenFone 6 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ IPS all-screen NanoEdge display with a 92% screen-to-body ratio, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and there is the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection offered on the device. The 2.84GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 powers the device and there is Adreno 640 GPU for the graphics support. Also, there are variants going up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage, and the company has included a dedicated MicroSD card slot for the storage expansion.
The interesting part here is the flip camera that is given on the ZenFone 6. It is a motorised flip camera that is offered on the device and that includes a 48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor having an f/1.79 aperture and a 13MP secondary ultra-wide sensor with 125-degree field of view and there is a Dual LED flash. According to the company, this will be the first phone in the world to have a support for 4K videos at 60fps and EIS support as well. The camera flips out from the back whenever you want to capture selfies and it is said to have a lifespan of about 100000 flips.
The twisting of the camera is possible at different angles and it is not fixed to stand straight, so that the user can capture pictures at several angles. As for the OS, there is the ZenUI 6 based on Android 9 Pie included here, and the company has said that there will be guaranteed update to the next two major Android OS versions in the future.
The ASUS ZenFone 6 also has a 5000 mAh battery, which might be the highest for any flagship this year, and there is support for Quick Charge 4.0.
