The Honor 7 smartphone comes packed with some super specs, but it isn’t only the specs that are talking. The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor that does more than just unlocking the device, and on the side, the device has a Smart Key, which is not either of the power key or volume rocker.
As the name suggests, the smart key is for a few smart functions, and to access shortcuts. The smart key is located on the left frame, and once set, it can help the user open some shortcuts and apps, on single press, double press, and a long press.
The shortcuts that can be accessed using the smart key, include the following.
- Ultra snapshot
- Voice recording
- Flashlight
- Screenshot
And for the list of apps, all the apps that are installed in the phone can be seen in the list, and the user can select one of them to open on a particular key press.
So, how to setup the Smart key on Honor 7? Head to the Settings, and in the main list, you’ll see Smart Key setting, where the three options are shown – Single press, double press, and long press. Each of them have to be set and then, the Smart key functions even when the screen is turned off.
Another interesting feature is the fingerprint sensor in Honor 7, which is capable of not just unlocking the screen but also in different other functions and shortcuts.
